Warsaw High School Art Department Artist Residency February, '19
An encore by definition describes an extra performance at the end of a concert called forth by an audience's long-lasting standing ovation.
This page a standing ovation to the teachers and students of Warsaw High School Art Department. The month of Febraury, I was invited to serve as a resident Visiting Artist traveling among four classrooms across a myriad of specialized classes and incredible diverse student talent to share about what I do and how I do it.
As it turns out, the students inspired me as much as I inspired them!
Mr. Morrow invited photography students to pick up a camera and start snapping as our our process sprinted forward into the living color of a potter's wheel.
The photos captured here are from the student's eyes and will be displayed with an exhibition presenting twenty 12' x 36" panels created by students as collaborative works. The schedule of exhibit locations will be coming soon!
Student Photo Gallery of 20-Paneled Collaborative Mosaic
Gold medals indicate selection into the TOP FIVE picks by Mrs. Z! These five photos will be professionally printed, framed and exhibited along with our 20-paneled series.
This colorful series of 20 Mosaic Panels is 450 Artists strong!
Each student artist painted circles on potter's wheels and also created a mini masterpiece mosaic of their own framed in plexiglass.
Stay tuned for our exhibit schedule!
There were many stages to the process: the coordination of wheel-spinning, selecting color themed circles, cutting, arranging, adhering, placing, precision...all part of creativity and the mind-game of creating a pleasing end product.
Beautiful photography everyone!
